HAROLD’S BIO

FROM HAROLD:

Having grown up in the wilds of northern Wisconsin, you are most likely to find me out in the wilds of our world. I really enjoy spending time with my subjects, large & small, to better understand their world to the point where I can capture a meaningful moment in a sliver of time in a photograph.

My photographic journey really matured when I enrolled in a Canon Live Learning event over a weekend about 15 years ago.  The education was wonderful and very well done, but the turning point was when I borrowed a Canon L series lens for the workshop...I quickly learned & embraced the meaning of the line..."marry the glass...date the camera"!!

Having a career in the implantable medical device industry I was very comfortable with high tech complex devices and learned how to effectively convey very complex information to an audience of employees, patients & physicians alike.  Those teaching techniques have stayed with me throughout my past professional and current photographic career, helping others understand and work with these amazing complex tools our cameras are today!

As I transitioned out of my previous career, I started traveling more for photography, (I met Denise in Alaska in about 2013) and also got involved with a large Porsche car club in the Pacific NW, photographing dozens of static, rally & racing events and being appointed the photo editor for the club and its publications as well as being invited to photograph the annual national Porsche events.

I also started traveling with a friend and future business partner on wildlife trips around the world and was soon assisting with and leading photographic adventures from Brazil to Alaska.  Few years later, the opportunity arose to get involved in opening a camera store in West Yellowstone, on the doorstep to Yellowstone National Park.  This was a wild & fun adventure for 5 years, living right next to Yellowstone NP, running a retail camera business, helping literally thousands of customers from around the world, leading guided photographic trips into Yellowstone NP day & night astro shoots while supporting a growing photographic adventure travel business.

After years of nearly continuous travel and time away from home I have transitioned out of the camera store retail business and have proudly joined Denise Ippolito ~ A Creative Adventure team!!

I hope our paths may cross in the future!

Harold.
