I shot the barn with infrared even though the bright red was appealing, I decided to do something different.

Bicentennial Barn

Not sure who took this picture…might have been Dave.

Not sure who took this picture…might have been Dave.

The Bicentennial aka Liberty Barn located in Latah Washington is owned by Dave Krell. David is a kind man that allows photographers access to photograph his old barn and also some of his old trucks. He even owns another old barn down the road and he is willing to share that treasure as well. If you bring a group please make a donation for his time. If you go on your own Dave likes candy and a nice bag of candy should do fine. The first time I met Dave I liked his eagerness to share his painted barn along with the history of it. He said the barn was built in the 1900’s and he first painted it in 1976. If you want to hear more about the barn, give Dave a visit.  His barn is located near the American West Bank, 101 East Market Street, Latah, WA 99018.

Dave sent me an email asking if I would be coming this year but because of Covid my earlier trip was postponed so hopefully we will get to see him in August. I can’t wait to try a few new perspectives for this barn and hopefully I’ll get a chance. Please remember to be respectful of this and all locations. These are peoples homes and privacy is paramount so if you visit don’t enter the fenced area without permission. Thank you and be sure to tell him that I sent you.
