The Art of Abstract Photography

April 3, 2020

I am very proud to announce the completion of my very latest eBook “The Art of Abstract Photography”. Available only through A Creative Adventure HERE. I have worked really hard in the last few weeks to complete it. Having been self quarantined I felt it was a good time to finish the book I started over 6 months ago. I hope you enjoy it, thank you.

My Introduction:

I feel that there are no clear cut rules when it comes to photography. To me, abstract photography is no different, if anything there are fewer restrictions. My favorite abstracts are found naturally in nature but just about any subject can become abstract, depending on the way it’s photographed.  When trying to create an abstract image, I often think of ways to use color, movement, shapes, patterns and textures to define the abstract; using some or all of them together or individually depending on the effect I am after.

There are times when the subject of the photo may or may not be recognizable and sometimes only a small portion of the subject will be used to convey a feel or mood for the image. When a viewer asks the question, “What is it?” there is a good chance I have succeeded in creating an abstract photo.

This book is a celebration of all abstract photography.  The idea of no limits, no guidelines… just freedom to create, makes me smile. I hope the examples and thoughts below will inspire you to stretch your photographic wings. Experiment, experiment, experiment; trial and error are the factors that will lead you to successful abstract images.
